Magnus Petersson is an established painter and has exhibited his work widely in Europe, Scandinavia and the United Sates. A Swedish Citizen, he was born in Zurich, Switzerland and currently lives and works in London, England.

The works presented here are the result of a need to express the fundamental desire for simplicity in dealing with the complexity of everyday impressions. The intention is to sublimate and refine (reduce) those impressions into a code of form and colour which captures their essence. The resulting works, then, present the viewer with an experience which is self-contained; the paintings themselves become the experience, rather than representing an experience. The paintings' form or structure inform the colour and visa versa; they are, therefore, self-referential.
